Featured Student Spotlight on School Wall

I was featured in the Student Spotlight at GEMS American Academy Qatar for my leadership across clubs, 200+ hours of volunteering, and initiatives like teaching English to janitors on campus.

Being featured in the Student Spotlight on the wall of GEMS American Academy Qatar, my high school, was a moment of immense pride. It felt like earning a personal star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but for students. GEMS Education is one of the largest privately owned school franchises in the world, and being recognized in such a prestigious environment made the experience even more meaningful.

One of the achievements I’m most proud of was helping the janitors on campus learn English. Many of them spoke Hindi, Nepali, or Bangladeshi, so my friends and I organized after-school lessons to help them communicate more comfortably. It was an eye-opening and rewarding experience, reminding me how small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact within a community.

Beyond that, I accumulated over 200 hours of volunteer work across the school. Whether I was assisting teachers or supporting other clubs, I made it a point to contribute wherever I could. My involvement with multiple clubs was also a key part of this recognition. As the founder of the Newspaper Club, I led a team committed to keeping students, teachers, and parents informed with the latest campus happenings. Through the News Channel, I brought news to life through engaging broadcasts, offering the school a fresh way to stay connected. Additionally, my participation in the Eco Club allowed me to contribute to sustainability efforts by helping maintain the school’s greenhouse.

Being recognized on the wall of GEMS American Academy was a true honor, reflecting the meaningful experiences that shaped my high school journey. Each moment I spent volunteering, leading, and collaborating taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, creativity, and the importance of community.
